Samsung’s Virtual Assistant, Bixby, is Struggling with English
Samsung heavily hyped its new digital assistant, Bixby, during its Galaxy S8 launch event.
But Bixby isn’t quite ready for primetime in North America yet, according to a new report that suggests the digital assistant is still mastering the English language.
Sources cited in The Wall Street Journal suggest that it could still be several weeks before we see Bixby in the US. In a statement, Samsung admitted Bixby needed a little more time to “further enhance natural language understanding.”
The S8 was unveiled back in April, and the promise of Bixby was grand. At the time, Samsung boldly stated that Bixby was “fundamentally different” from other voice agents or assistants in the market.
